Time and Place - Où et Quand

We have rented a hall on the beautiful Baie des Chaleurs, in New Mills, NB. The ceremony will begin at 7PM on August 20th, 2011. The party will commence, in the same hall, shortly thereafter. Weather permitting, we plan on a beach fire after dancing.

Although no meal will be served, there will be appetizers available.

A toonie bar will also be available for all of your liquid needs.

Nous avons loué une salle sur la magnifique Baie des Chaleurs, à New Mills, NB. La cérémonie va débuter à 19H00, le 20 aout 2011. Par la suite, on va danser et célébrer. On planifie finir la soirée avec un feu sur la plage.

Il n'y aura pas de repas servi, par contre, il aura des amuse-gueule durant la soirée.

Il va avoir un "toonie bar" disponible pour combler tous vos désirs liquides.

Getting There - Se rendre

I suppose it all depends on where you are coming from and how you are going to go about it.

-By car from the Maritimes: from Moncton, go north on route 11 to Miramichi, then route 8 to Bathurst, then back on route 11 towards Campbelton. Take exit 357, Nash Creek, and go right at the stop. Proceed to route 134 and go left for about 10 kilometers. The Blue Heron B&B is on your right.

-By car from Québec: you have two options. Route 132 down the Matapedia River Valley to Campbelton or Hwy 2 to Edmunston and then the 17 to Campbelton. From here, it becomes Route 11, go towards Bathurst, keep going, take exit 375, Charlo/Blackland, and head towards Blackland. You will get to the Blue Heron in about 8 kilometers.

-By plane: Moncton is the larger airport, although there is an airport in Bathurst. And then most other options are viable.

-By train: there is a Via Rail stop in Charlo.

-By boat: there is a wharf about five minutes walk from the B&B. Turn at Heron Island and head to shore.

-By bus: stops in Jacquet River and Dalhousie.

If you need someone to pick you up at any spot, let us know, and I'm sure we can figure something out.

Pour se rendre au Nid du Héron :

-En automobile, si vous venez du sud de la province ou de la Nouvelle-Écosse, prenez la route 11 vers Miramichi, ensuite la route 8 vers Bathurst et finalement sur la route 11 vers Campbellton. Prenez la sortie 357 vers Nash Creek, tournez à droite à l’arrêt. Ensuite, tournez à gauche sur la route 134, conduisez pour 10 kilomètres et l’Héron Bleu sera à votre droite.

-Si vous venez de du Québec, vous pouvez passer par la route 132 en descendant la Vallée de la Matapédia en direction de Campbellton. Vous pouvez également prendre l’autoroute numéro 2 vers Edmunston et route 17 vers Campbellton. Par la suite, vous prenez la route 11 vers Bathurst et prenez la sortie 375, nommée Charlo-Blackland. Tourner à gauche au premier arrêt et ensuite à droite au deuxième arrêt vers Blackland. Continuez pour 8 kilomètres et l’Héron Bleu sera à votre gauche.

Where to stay - Où rester

There are many options for places to stay. The Bed and Breakfast where the ceremony will be has six rooms available for the night. We will be staying there ourselves. I believe the rooms are 120$ a night. If you would like to stay at party central, let us know early.

The folks who run the B&B also rent out a house right next door. It's called the Creighton House, and I believe they rent it by the week.

Other places to stay are numerous. The closest place is Bonaventure Lodge. This is within walking distance from the Blue Heron. http://www.bonaventurelodge.com/

Getting a little further away, in Charlo is the http://www.heronsnestcottages.com/, lovely cottages on the water. There's also a campground in Charlo called the Blue Heron Camping.

There are numerous hotels in Dalhousie, notably the Best Western.

Il y a plusieurs endroits où rester pendant les noces. Vous pouvez louer une des six chambres au Héron Bleu. Les chambres coutent environ 120$ la nuit, ces chambres seront potentiellement bruyantes puisqu'elles sont près de la fête.

Il y a aussi une maison à louer par la semaine près du Héron Bleu.

Taking a cue from the Royal Wedding of Kate and William, instead of gifts, we will be accepting donations to our favorite charity: ''The Jacques and Claire Need a New Roof Foundation''.
